__The Dieppe Raid
By 1942, 1 million Russians had died and so the allies decided they needed help so they planned a raid on the Port of Dieppe in France to help the Russians.
- However the Canadians were sent very poorly prepared and equipped and the Germans were ready for the invasion.
- Poor Communication also caused problems for the Canadians.
- The Canadian Tanks could not get traction on the the pebbled beaches and became sitting targets.
- 907 Canadians were killed during the 9 hour battle.
